We are looking for a mature male volunteer to become a Volunteer Visitor and provide friendship to a lonely gentleman living in Aged Care home in the Victoria Pt/ Redland Bay area.

In his earlier days, this gentleman worked in the technology industry. He is originally from England. His interests include reading, loves dogs (especially border collies), used to enjoy fishing, and loved to travel. Visits would include chatting about the old days.

Regular fortnightly visits provide the resident with valuable friendship. Through this regular one-to-one visiting great friendships can be formed. These visits from a Volunteer Visitor can help to improve the quality of life of the older person and help them to feel less socially isolated.

Volunteering as a Volunteer Visitor can be a very rewarding experience. By becoming a friend to an older person, you can make a positive difference to their lives as well as your own.
