If you’re interested in connecting with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you!

An example of a Uniting AgeWell volunteer

Alina is currently studying certificate 3 in lifestyle and leisure and had been encouraged by her university to seek out volunteer roles that would offer: • Training and supervision • Practical aged care experience • Insight into the operation of an aged care provider • Flexibility around study commitments

Alina decided to reach out to the Uniting AgeWell Chadstone Centre to explore their volunteer opportunities. The established program was well regarded and experienced in working with volunteers. In this role Alina facilitates a weekly music group and supports customers to: • Connect with each other • Participate in activities of interest • Get to and from the centre • Support and foster their independence and autonomy

Alina’s experience with the Chadstone Centre has built her skills, confidence and confirmed her interest in the area. The customers at the centre have enjoyed Alina’s presence and support at the centre. If you have an interest in supporting people 65+ to reconnect with their interests and community please apply!

We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring. Good communications skills and the ability to work independently are a must. Having a driver’s licence/access to own vehicle is highly desired but not essential. We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities.
