Joan is located in Ferndale and would love to have a friendly volunteer visit her once a week to reminisce about her life, assist her to write her life story, and perhaps paint a little!

If you have good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with elderly people then this could be the volunteer role for you.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme is funded by the Australian Government. Established to promote links between people living in an aged care facility and their local community. The aim of the scheme is to improve residents' quality of life for those who have limited family, cultural and social contact and may be at risk of social isolation.
