As part of the federally funded Community Visiting Scheme; compassionate, caring and friendly volunteers are needed to visit and provide social support with an elderly Sri Lankan (woman) resident in an aged care facility in Marsfield LGA. If you are a woman, 30-60 years old, from Indian or Sri Lankan background, you will be suited for this resident. It is purely about social interaction, connection and conversation to provide joy to this resident and thus enhance her wellbeing. A commitment of at least 1 hour a fortnight is needed on an ongoing basis so a rapport and trust can be developed between the volunteer and the resident. The role is flexible, and fortnightly meetings will be scheduled at a mutually suitable time. Individuals who are willing to give a little bit of their time, who are reliable, patient and compassionate, and have a positive attitude for life are encouraged to apply.
