Volunteer photographer with palliative care patients (Northern Beaches)

Logo for HammondCare Australia

As a HammondCare volunteer photographer in the North Shore area, your professional photography skills will allow people who are receiving end-of-life palliative care services to capture a moment in time. The photography service is an opportunity for the patient to feel special and enjoy a shared experience with their loved ones if they wish.

Our Volunteer Coordinator will identify patients who would like their photograph taken and arrange for a time for you to visit them in their home or another suitable location such as a beach or local park. You’ll chat with the patient about the photo style and who will be in the picture – themselves, family, friends or beloved pets. We anticipate that the session with last for approximately 1 hour (daytime Monday - Friday) and up to 30 minutes post production loading the best images onto a USB for the patient.

Given the nature of the project, we are seeking local volunteers who have professional photography experience, have their own photographic equipment and an ability to bring the best out of people on the day. Due to patient confidentiality, you will not be able to use the images in any future portfolio or personal promotional purposes.

Why HammondCare? Volunteering at HammondCare Northern Beaches Palliative Care Service is a great experience for you, and a great way to make a difference for people in need. You’ll find that as you meet new people, you’ll gain personal satisfaction and have fun. We'll provide training and on-going support.

When you submit your application form, please include details on why you're interested in volunteering.
