ESNLC is a not-for-profit Neighbourhood House providing a variety of community activities that promote wellbeing and creativity. We rely on the dedication and passion of our volunteers to bring our programs to life, and strive to ensure all volunteers feel supported and welcomed in our Centre.

The Social Craft Group provides an opportunity for members of the community to come along and build social connections within the local area, as well as develop and share their creative skills amongst other like-minded people. Volunteering to facilitate this group will ensure the momentum we have built since beginning in May last year can continue to grow.

Key duties

  • The role will include facilitating the group to provide basic guidance and advice that participants may need on their various craft or sewing projects. This is not a class, so teaching skills are not required.
  • Assisting in creating a supportive and welcoming environment for new and existing participants.
  • Setting up and packing down the equipment available for participants to use (e.g. cutting boards, scissors, sewing machines if needed).

Skills and experience needed

  • Intermediate skills across the craft and sewing disciplines (varying skills in different areas is acceptable).
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in a relaxed and patient manner.
  • Ability to share knowledge and skills with others and to actively help others where needed.

ESNLC Volunteers require a cleared Working With Children (WWC) and where relevant, a National Police Check.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
