We are looking for someone to become a Volunteer Visitor and provide friendship to a lonely gentleman living in Aged Care home in the Annerley area.

Visits will include chatting about the old days and perhaps taking a short walk outside together on the grounds or playing a simple board game together. In his earlier days, our gentleman travelled throughout Queensland with his work. He enjoys chatting with others, loves golf, BBQs and walking.

Regular fortnightly visits provide the resident with valuable friendship. Through this regular one-to-one visiting great friendships can be formed. These visits from a Volunteer Visitor can help to improve the quality of life of the older person and help them to feel less socially isolated.

Volunteering as a Volunteer Visitor can be a very rewarding experience. By becoming a friend to an older person, you can make a positive difference to their lives as well as your own.
