Talent Development Program Coordinator

Goldfields Sport Development Network

TALENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM – PROGRAM COORDINATOR CONTRACT – 12 MONTHS / ~7.5 HOURS PER WEEK Goldfields Sports Development Network (GSDN) is seeking a suitably qualified or experienced contractor / provider to deliver key components of the GSDN Talent Development Program for and on behalf of the GSDN Committee. GSDN forms part of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) Regional Athlete Support Program, an initiative which has established a state-wide network aimed at supporting the development of regional-based talented athletes, coaches and officials along their chosen sport’s high performance pathway from within their home or local environment.

SECTION 1 – KEY DUTIES Work in collaboration with the GSDN Committee around the formation and implementation of the overall GSDN operational plan including:

  • Active promotion of GSDN grant funding opportunities throughout the local sporting community as first point of contact for GSDN including establishing and maintaining close working relationships with local sporting bodies.
  • Work in collaboration with Local, Regional and State sports associations to identify athletes, coaches and officials eligible for support through the GSDN programs.
  • Assist identified athletes, coaches and officials with their funding applications and acquittals.
  • Coordinate specialised professional development workshops, training and education programs facilitated through GSDN funding.
  • Assist local sporting bodies with identification, coordination and facilitation (through GSDN funding) of talent development programs in the Goldfields region.

SECTION 2 - REPORTING Provide reports as follows:

  • Regular reporting to the GSDN committee on planning, activities and expenditure through attendance at monthly GSDN meetings and presentation of a brief written report.
  • Provide brief update reports to local sporting bodies, associations and athlete, coach and official grant applicants and recipients as required.
  • Submit fortnightly timesheet records to the GSDN Chairperson for approval using a standard pro-forma referencing activities undertaken and tasks completed.

SECTION 3 - OUTPUTS

  • Provision of talented athletes from within the Goldfields region with opportunities for development in their sport towards a high performance pathway within their home or local environment.
  • Provision of talented coaches and officials within the Goldfields region with access to learning and development opportunities.
  • Support for successful delivery of talent development programs by local sporting bodies.
  • Successfully delivered GSDN workshops, training and education programs.
  • Promotion of GSDN programs and associated grant funding opportunities
  • Promotion of DLGSC programs and initiatives (where applicable).

SECTION 4 – EXPERIENCE AND CRITERIA

  • Preferred previous experience in similar role;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Computer literacy in Word Processing, PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Knowledge of high performance sport development and related specialised services opportunities;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently;
  • Current C Class driver’s licence.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • National Police Clearance

Remuneration for services will be made monthly on the basis of being a co-opted committee member paid an honorarium. Payment will be made on submission and approval of timesheet records for activities and tasks carried out over the previous month to deliver GSDN project outputs across a period not exceeding twelve months. Further details pertaining to remuneration may be discussed directly with the GSDN Committee and/or Chairperson.

Public liability and Professional Indemnity insurance cover will be provided under GSDNs insurance policy covering the program coordinator position as a committee member.
