As a Social Inclusion Volunteer, you will be connected with someone who has similar interests or experiences. We are especially looking for people who believe that their life experiences have helped them to develop compassion, resilience and acceptance of others. Your role will provide companionship and support for somebody to find local activities and environments that nurture the person’s well-being. Research shows that people who are lonely or isolated have poorer mental health outcomes. You will support people to participate with confidence in the community in ways that interest them.

Ideally you will bring your friendly and good interpersonal skills to the role. This role will appeal to you particularly if you enjoy talking with others about a wide range of topics and day to day interests. You may also enjoy investigating community resources/groups/services.

You will be working in a supportive and inclusive team. You will receive opportunities for professional and personal development.

NRCH welcomes Volunteers to share and contribute to our Mission of building healthy communities by making healthcare more accessible and culturally relevant.
Our vision is for healthcare that builds community. We encourage applications from residents in the City of Yarra and/or people who can speak community languages. NRCH is wheelchair accessible, and is close to a number of public transport options. Let us know if you have any specific support/access needs. Need help to apply? Please let the Volunteer Program Coordinator know if you need support to complete the application form and recruitment process.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
