Central Coast Wetlands Pioneer Dairy is a well-established parkland located at South Tacoma Road Tuggerah and is managed by the Tuggerah Lake Reserve Land Manager and dedicated volunteers. We are a not for profit community organisation committed to the restoration and conservation of the natural wetland setting and its buildings for use by the community. This hidden treasure consists of 155 hectares of natural areas and parkland adjoining the rail line between Wyong River and Tuggerah. The park offers many popular bushwalking tracks, covered picnic tables, modern public amenities and is a bird watching and photography hotspot.

We are looking for people to help maintain our natural areas at Central Coast Wetlands Pioneer Dairy. Depending on the needs on any particular day, your duties may include repairing bridges, removing debris from paths and maintaining signs and picnic tables.

Key responsibilities • Treating and removing weeds • Repairing bridges • Removing debris from paths (using chainsaw) • Maintaining signs and picnic tables

Central Coast Wetlands also has planting days on Fridays where a group of us get together to plant native trees. On some occasions you will be asked to prepare the site for the group or join in on the session yourself.

No experience is necessary but if you do not have a chemical certificate, we will arrange for you to NOT treat weeds with herbicide.

Benefits to volunteers include working with like-minded people, making new friends, the satisfaction of working to help the local environment and interact with native wildlife and learn about native trees.

To be referred to this role an interview with Volunteering Central Coast is required. You will be contacted soon to arrange a mutually convenient time and place.
