Job Description Summary

Every Salvation Army corps (church and community centre) is a place of welcome, providing a place to connect and participate in the corps community in a myriad of ways. From worship and prayer, to play groups, community meals and community support, youth activities, women’s and men’s groups, and music activities, there are so many opportunities for community members to make friends, to find assistance and to start their spiritual journey.

This is why the volunteer role of Welcoming Team Member is so important, as they are the first person a community member meets when they walk through the door. First impressions count so a welcoming smile helps community members feel safe and accepted. The Welcoming Team Member creates a friendly environment by offering refreshments and friendly conversation, building rapport and connection with all those who enter our Corps.
