Liveaboard Volunteer Crew
The Windeward Bound Trust-The voluntary crew position is a live-aboard, full-time commitment to the ship, and the Windeward Bound Trust.
-Prior maritime knowledge is not essential however we seek volunteers who are keen to learn are self-motivated and supportive of the Trust’s mission.
-As a volunteer aboard, you will be engaged in multiple maritime activities, including ship maintenance, youth development as well as crewing for fundraising day sails and voyages.
-It is expected that all voluntary liveaboard crew members are participate fully in activities assigned to them whilst on board.
-The ship provides full bed and board and is a minimum full-time commitment of 3 months with an option to extend.
-Volunteers will gain in depth knowledge and experience within the maritime environment. You will accrue sea time, receive training appropriate to your crew position.
-After six months, Australian citizens and permanent residents may register interest in the scholarship program with the ships’ Captain Sarah Parry.
-If you are an international applicant, you will need to apply for a Visa for a minimum of 6 months.
-You will also need or apply for a working with vulnerable people card.
