About the opportunity

Primary Purpose of the Position

Mogo is a small town on the Southeast coast of NSW with many drawcards for tourists, including the Mogo Zoo, historic appeal and outdoor activities. The highway (owned by Transport NSW) passes through the middle of the commercial center and brings in a high volume of through traffic. As a bushfire and flood prone area, Transport NSW is proposed to widen the highway and surrounding road structures to address the natural hazard risks. These new road enhancements will displace much of the town’s car parking facilities, which raises community concern that this will impact visitor numbers and shopfront traffic. The Business Chamber would like to address these concerns with the Local Council, Transport NSW and other stakeholders in an effective and productive way, this assignment is designed to support the Chamber to do so have these conversations.

Skills Required: Deep understanding of local government mechanics and community groups Ability to communicate complex issues in a practical way. Tactful interpersonal skills and strong relationship management

Role information:

  • Key Dates: Start ASAP
  • Duration: 10 weeks - Approx 3-5 hours per week
  • Location: Remote/Online.
  • Partner Location: Mogo NSW
