The Wesley Mission Newcastle Community Hub is actively recruiting Client Support Volunteers. This position will suit you if you are looking to launch a career in Community Services. Not only will you gain experience with one of NSW largest employers in Community Services. You will also have the opportunity to undertake a Certificate III in Community Services through Wesley Vocational Institute for FREE!

Wesley Vocational Institute offers national accredited training, plus you get to begin your work placement straight away as a Volunteer with the Newcastle Community Hub. (Most students who do placement with us, are required to complete months of study before joining the team.) Client Support Volunteers get vital experience working with clients triaging a range of issues.

This Volunteer position and training is perfect for you if you want to make a tangible difference to people most in need in our community: Mental Health, Homelessness, Domestic Violence, families in trauma, prison release and more. The Certificate III in Community Services begins May 2023 and this offer closes on 26 April 2023, APPLY NOW.

What is involved?

As a Client Support Volunteer, you will be part of the Client Support Team and will support the delivery of services to clients and community members, including Wesley Mission programs, external partners and the local community.

A Client Support Volunteer role includes:

• Greeting clients

• Hearing, understanding and assessing the client’s need.

• Developing quick rapport & relationships by being welcoming

• Becoming a wealth of knowledge of services in our community.

The Certificate III in Community Services is offered remotely and is self paced with personalised support. Just one unit a month.

This position will give volunteers broad insight and experience working in the Community Services Sector that will complement and enrich your training and will support you on your career journey.
