Queensland Youth Advisory Committee Member – QLD (Any location)

The program

The Queensland Youth Advisory Committee (QYAC) is a group of young leaders passionate about humanitarian action and youth empowerment. QYAC provides strategic advice to the Queensland Divisional Advisory Board and Queensland Director, develops and leads youth engagement initiatives, and supports and promotes the work of the Australian Red Cross.

Red Cross enables youths to access the knowledge, skills and resources that will increase their ability to stay safe and to seek help when needed.

The opportunity

The role is open for young people aged between 18 and 30 years old who can commit to attending monthly meetings (face-to-face or via Teams)​ and is passionate about convening or supporting youth engagement initiatives. You will engage and collaborate with like-minded young people from diverse backgrounds to contribute to the governance decision-making and youth engagement activities of QYAC. Young people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, young people with disabilities, and young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged to apply. 

The impact

As a Member of the Queensland Youth Advisory Committee, you will be representing young people throughout Queensland and advocating for and advancing youth empowerment within the Australian Red Cross. QYAC Members also have access to training and other opportunities within the world's largest humanitarian network.
