The Treasurer shares responsibility for strategic planning, budgeting, risk management and compliance management of Creeds Farm. The Treasurer has Board oversight of financial matters. An important part of the Treasurer’s role is to assist other Board members to understand financial information that is being presented and the context and the implications of this information. The Treasurer liaises with management and the finance officer as required.

This is an exciting time to join our Board. Creeds Farm reopened in September 2022 - having been closed with the pandemic and building repairs - and welcomed our friends and neighbours back through our doors. Our vision is to be a sustainability and wellbeing hub for our growing community.

ABOUT YOU

The successful person will need to demonstrate a mix of the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to guide the Board and any sub-committees or working groups on the financial implications of operational plans.
  • Experience of current corporate governance and financial management.
  • Strategic planning, critical thinking and influencing skills. *An understanding of risk management.
  • Prior experience on a Board or regular provision of reports to a Board.
  • Willingness to lead the Finance and Risk sub-committee.
  • Additional technical skills such as IT or HR are desirable but not essential.

TIME COMMITMENT

  • Meet with the Centre Manager and Finance Officer to review the monthly financial reports (2 hours).
  • Prepare for Board Meetings (1 hour).
  • Attend monthly Board meetings in person or online at Creeds Farm on the fourth Wednesday of each month (apart from December and January) at 6.30 pm for 60-90 minutes.
  • Prepare for and chair the Finance and Risk sub-committee that meets at least every two months (2 hours).

We’re located in Epping North. We are a paperless Board in keeping with Creeds Farm’s commitment to sustainability. We use Microsoft SharePoint for Board and governance documents.
