The Marketing and Communications Director should:

  1. write well and be a good communicator
  2. have computer skills and knowledge of websites and social media
  3. be able to develop strategy to support positive relationships with community, media, potential partners, and other influential contacts
  4. be able to liaise with the Board regarding marketing best practice Specific duties include but are not limited to: • Develop a 3 prong marketing comms strategy for Youth, Volunteers, and Partners to increase lead generation that the Program Manager and Business Development Director can execute • Work with the Program Manager to create a calendar to publish regular articles for the organisation's newsletter, social media, and website • Work with the program manager or other volunteers to produce, edit, and publish engaging written and visual communications, including newsletters, social media posts, website updates, reports, documents, presentations, and our annual report • Outsource specific skillsets across the communications space, including production of promotional assets, graphic design, and video production, with a priority on working with young professionals • Oversight of all collateral produced across the organisation, with an emphasis on creating templates to ensure consistent quality of content and the Spark brand • Identify, organise, and support media engagement opportunities for the organisation and the young people we work with • Report on progress, timelines, and results of marketing and communication activity to the Board • Nurture and build ongoing relations with communications stakeholders across the Youth Sector, including other communication professionals, seeking opportunities to support one another’s work.
