We are seeking regular volunteers to assist patients and staff within Cancer Care Services with tasks that will facilitate the flow of patients through outpatient clinic and treatment in the Chemo Day Unit.

Your Duties

• Assist patients to and from appointments within the hospital i.e. other Outpatients, Pathology and Medical Imaging
• Transfer of charts required for clinic/treatment from Medical Records or other departments
• Assisting patients that have long wait times for admission or other appointments i.e. providing cups of tea or getting meals/sandwiches from the kitchen
• Assisting Admin Staff with urgent chart requests
• Taking medical imaging requests and urgent specimens to the relevant area with direction from nursing staff

Skills and Attributes

• Good communication and people skills
• Ability to work autonomously or within a team
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
• Possess a friendly and outgoing nature
• Knowledge of hospital campus an advantage
• Ability to walk from the front to the back of the hospital multiple times within the day.
