Key responsibilities

In this role you will build skills & experience in recruitment support, participant & stakeholder engagement & resume building by:

Contacting participants to make appointments to assist with their resumes utilising templates & guidelines, booking for group sessions & for one-on-one mentoring appointments, rebooking missed appointments

Pre-screening, coaching, & mentoring participants with tailored options for employment, education, & training to best prepare for their journey to employment taking into consideration any barriers

Qualifications & skills (desired/required)

Familiarity with the refugee community is highly desirable

Bilingual language skills highly desired

Experience Human Resources, specifically recruitment is highly desired

Required to have a general understanding & /or appreciation of recruitment trends & assisting people to find work

Experience in customer service &/or administration is desired, with strong attention to detail

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

Working with the EPlus Employer Liaison team, EPlus Job Mentors will work closely with refugees to find employment opportunities by identifying their valuable skills & professional experience to assess suitability & ensure a good match with employers. This rewarding role calls on those who are passionate about recruitment & community development, as well as working with refugees. It will bring opportunity to connect with employers in your local community & educate them on the excellent opportunity that exists when engaging a skilled migrant worker. It will also allow you to engage with the wider community of Salvation Army’s networks.

This role is ideal for someone studying Human Resources or Community Services, looking for practical training in their professional development, exploring a career change or someone who has extensive relevant experience & has a passion and time to give back to the community.

This role will be based in one or more of the following Salvation Army sites: Auburn, Liverpool, Campsie, Fairfield and Parramatta. The distribution of sites between successful applicants will be facilitated by the National Social Impact Manager.
