Oxbow Wetlands Community Wetland Rehabilitation 2023

Conservation Volunteers Australia
Logo for Conservation Volunteers Australia

Come and join us to help protect and restore our natural wetlands. These special environments need our help to continue to do the vital work they do ensuring we all have clean air, fresh water and safe futures. This event is focusing on work to rehabilitate the bushland surrounding the Oxbow Wetlands. This event will require us to manually remove numerous invasive weed plant species found at this wetland. It is important for us to remove these well-established invasive species for native plants to thrive and provide habitats for key species in this ecosystem. We will be working in partnership with Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee for this conservation activity and will provide light refreshments for everyone involved.

Important information to take note of:

  • NO toilet - You will need to drive to Hemmant Station before / during the event to use the toilet (6 min drive away from site).
  • No drinking facilities on site, make sure you bring plenty of water.
  • The work that will be undertaken during this activity will be intensive and at times challenging in the hot and humid conditions. Please think about your limitations before signing up.
