As an independent, not-for-profit provider of Residential Aged Care services, the Board of Directors’ primary focus is on providing strong governance to ensure the health and safety of our Residents is not compromised in any way.

In this voluntary Company Secretary role, you will enjoy working with a highly engaged and effective Board; servicing the meetings of the Board and 3 Sub-Committees (all held quarterly), and ensuring compliance with all governance requirements, including those of ASIC and the ACNC.

Reporting to our Board Chair, this role provides a unique opportunity for an experienced aged care management (or related health services) executive to gain direct Board and corporate governance experience in a dynamic, growing and well-respected aged care services organization.

Essential criteria include:

  • An ability to establish, build and maintain effective and cooperative and positive working relationships with senior stakeholders and the Board

  • Highly developed communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal

  • A solid understanding of corporate governance principles

  • Strong attention to detail and sound organisational skills

  • Demonstrated current or previous relevant experience in a company secretarial role

  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism and discretion in handling matters of a sensitive and confidential nature.

Desirable criteria include:

  • Takes responsibility for own actions

  • High level of motivation and initiative

  • Flexible and adaptive to change

  • Well-presented and approachable

  • A highly organized / administrative mindset

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Finance, Law or related professional management discipline

  • Experience in working within a complex, highly regulated industry
