KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Developing and implementing the organisation's strategic plan to achieve its mission and goals.
  2. Providing leadership to the organisation and fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  3. Managing the day-to-day operations of the organisation, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  4. Overseeing fundraising and grant writing efforts to ensure adequate financial resources to support the organisation's programmes and services.
  5. Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, volunteers, and board members.
  6. Representing the organisation to the public and promoting its mission and programmes to the community.
  7. Ensuring the organisation operates in a financially responsible manner and within budget.
  8. Collaborating with the Board of Directors to establish goals, objectives, and policies.
  9. Hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services.
  10. Staying informed of trends and best practices in the non-profit sector and incorporating them into the organisation's operations.

Requirements for the role typically include several years of senior management experience in a corporate or non-profit organisation. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as experience in fundraising, financial management, and program development, are also essential. The candidate is going to have a passion for sport and in particular keen to see children thrive physically. The candidate is going to need to be hands on and willing to help with the physical aspects of collecting, sorting and redistributing sports wear and equipment.

The MD is also Chairman or the Board of Directors which meets as often as required. The current MD estimates that he spends 15-20 hours a week on KBFK duties but this does include some operational aspects not included within this job description. Requirements are much lower during school holidays when the charity’s operations tends to slow.
