We currently have a volunteer opportunity for the following:

Agribusiness Strategist - Braidwood and Village Business Chamber (Capable Communities, Disaster Risk Reduction, NSW) Foundational work to inform and support the community on 2 community-driven agribusiness projects.

About the opportunity

Primary Purpose of the Position

A robust local business community is a key part of a community’s resilience in the face of disaster. The ramifications are especially far-reaching when, as Braidwood is, a service centre for several nearby villages. Braidwood and surrounding areas are largely a farming district with both large commercial farms and small boutique producers. This ABV assignment is to investigate and document the complex layers and elements associated with 2 projects that the local Business Chamber would like to set up:

  • Mobile abattoir
  • Food co op

Skills Requires: Broad ranging as well as deep understanding of agribusiness, its mechanics, stakeholder networks, business models and industry knowledge.

Role information:

  • Key Dates: Start ASAP
  • Duration: 8 weeks - Approx 3-5 hours per week
  • Location: Remote/Online.
  • Partner Location: Braidwood NSW
