Commitment - 3 days per week (Wed, Thurs, Fri) for 3 months.

Purpose *The Refugee Employment Support Program (RESP)* is an initiative by the NSW Government that addresses the challenges that are experienced by refugees and people seeking asylum in finding suitable and skilled employment opportunities.

We focus on community-based solutions to employment through involving local employers, organisations and other non-government organisations (NGOs) to connect eligible refugees and people seeking asylum with training, support and jobs.

The program is flexible and responsive to the needs of participants. It considers people at all stages of the employment journey, whether they are seeking entry into the workforce or pursuing skilled career options. Participants also work with multicultural employment specialists who can provide tailored support based on the participant’s skills, experience and goals.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting RESP team in responding to general enquires from internal and external stakeholders
  • Support in intake process including management of referral sheet
  • Support in preparation of client workshops including meeting rooms booking, catering and room set up
  • Updating clients records on Salesforce, including education status, employment status and updating general notes.
  • Creating and updating client resumes and cover letters
  • Re-confirmation of clients attendance for workshops/courses/sessions
  • Taking minutes at meetings
  • Updating computer records using a database
  • Printing and photocopying
  • Actively support SSI Group’s vision and values

Position requirements:

  • Studying Business administration or similar at Tafe or College
  • Bi-lingual capability – Dari, Arabic or Ukrainian
  • Basic knowledge and experience in excel and word
  • Excellent communication and intercultural skills
  • Attend weekly on either on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays
  • Flexibility in performing a range of tasks
  • Complete all required SSI checks - Police Check, Working with Children Check
