As a HammondCare At Home volunteer, you’ll spend time with someone in your local community who may be lonely or socially isolated. We're looking for caring individuals who can sit and have a chat, reminisce and talk about topics of interest with elderly people in their own homes.

Our Client in Summerland Point is looking for a sport loving or fishing fan Social Volunteer. Our client has many interests but what he really enjoys is watching the Grid Iron (American football), NRL, Tennis, and classic 1980's tv series Colombo and Death in Paradise. Past interest include boating and fishing and would like to meet someone to chat with or enjoy some tv viewing together.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with. The Community Visitor Scheme is a Federal Government initiative established to promote links between elderly people and their local community.

HammondCare

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity, supporting people to live in their homes and maintain their independence. We're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need and we have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of clients who are living at home.
