Job Title: Supporter Care Coordinator 

Job Type: Permanent/Part-Time 

Location: Mahboba's Promise Head Office 

Reports To: Operations Manager 

Time Commitment: 1-2 days per week (Mon-Wed) 

Organisational Overview:  For over 20 years, Mahboba’s Promise has been dedicated to providing a sustainable future to vulnerable women and children in Afghanistan. The organisation has strong ties to communities both in Afghanistan and Australia and utilises these links to foster and develop relationships that protect and enhance the future of the Afghan people. Since its inception, Mahboba’s Promise has established schools, shelters, health clinics, supplied agricultural resources and built critical infrastructure across Afghanistan. The organisation has also provided sponsorships to widows and orphans in need helping those who need it most secure a more equitable quality of life.  

  Job Summary:  As Supporter Care Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating donation and sponsorship records allocated to our recipients in Afghanistan in our internal database. You will also manage communication between the office and our supporters and will work closely with our Marketing Manager to look for new ways to engage our existing supporter base so that existing revenue streams are optimised. Execute the Supporter Care strategy which encompasses a communication calendar between supporters and the Afghanistan office to ensure information is shared efficiently. This gives you the chance to embed yourself with other teams and design and develop projects that will impact organisational efficiency and communication. 

  Job Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage with existing supporters. 
  • Manage donor inquiries, thank you letters, and acknowledgements promptly and professionally. 
  • Execute regular supporter communications including releases such as newsletters, impact reports, campaign/fundraising information. 
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing Manager to ensure messaging is aligned with marketing releases and is ‘on brand’. 
  • Monitor competitor donor/sponsorship/supporter trends and regularly revise Supporter Care initiatives. 
  • Map Supporter Care processes and produce guidelines/handbooks to ensure team members are fully enabled and inefficiencies are addressed. 
  • Maintain the supporter database, ensuring the data entry is accurate. 
  • Work with the Supporter Care Lead to improve the ways of obtaining information such as recipient and program updates, success stories, milestones to share with our supporters. 
  • Use Mail Chip to create personalised and branded content to communicate to our supporters.

  • Ability to learn new IT programs and quickly come up to speed. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. 
  • An enthusiastic and positive nature that can work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • An interest in international affairs and development, the NFP sector and/or Afghanistan and its development context.
