Project Coordinator - Research and Advocacy

1. Who is Women of Colour Australia (WoCA)

Women of Colour Australia (WoCA) is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity established in August 2020. We are run by women of colour for women of colour. We exist to champion Australia’s women of colour through programs of education, community support initiatives, and advocacy work.

Our Vision: A world where girls and women of colour are afforded equitable opportunities to reach their full potential.

Our Purpose: To advocate, support, and strengthen the lives and experiences of Women of Colour in all places and spaces in Australia.

2. Duties

Reporting to the Director of Research and Advocacy, the Research Project Coordinator duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring our Project Plans, across our Research and Advocacy Teams, are up to date and visible organisation-wide
  • Adding literature (research, news articles and reports) to our Zotero database
  • Writing literature reviews and pulling data from our database and research projects to fulfil requests from teams across the organisation (e.g. information for research project, grants or marketing)
  • Develop collateral such as slides for team meetings.

3. Attributes

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Previous experience as a Project Coordinator
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Passionate about researching and advocating for Women of Colour
  • Database management
  • Intermediate skills in Google Suite (e.g. Sheets, Docs, Slides)
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Research expertise in management, critical theory, intersectionality and/or Women of Colour is an advantage.
