Little Things for Tiny Tots

About Us:

Little Things for Tiny Tots distributes new and pre-loved essential baby items to WA families in need. We provide a box of “little things” to assist families to care for their newborn with items such as clothing, blankets, nappies, wipes, toys and books. Our volunteers collect and package donations into New Baby Boxes which are distributed via existing support services and government agencies.

It is the responsibility of the Donations Officer to support the activities and mission of Little Things. Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and liaise with the Donation Drop Off Partners (local businesses), including management of inbound donations.

  • Work collaboratively with Resources Team (Donations Officers and Procurement Officers) to ensure stock supplies are managed and linked to strategic goals.

  • Communicate effectively to the Operations Team, and Committee as required, any inventory needs so donation drives, callouts and purchases can be initiated.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with all Donation Drop Off Partners and other related stakeholders.

  • Ensure consistent donation flow and maintain appropriate stock levels through effective stock storage processes and management of Donation Drop Off Partners.
  • Ensure an adequate network of drop off locations is maintained at all times.

Research and identify prospective Donation Drop Off locations and contacts that align with our mission and meet criteria for participation in our collection program.

Establish new relationships with Donation Drop Off Partners to expand our network of drop off locations and improve accessibility options for our donors and supporters.

Develop and document the processes and procedures relevant to the management of resources.

10 -25 hours per month (as time commitment allows), work from home and onsite

This role requires:

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Strong eye for detail, including coordination, organisational and time management skills to work within allocated timeframes.
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Flexible and adaptable personality.
  • Sound IT skills.

Highly desirable but not essential:

  • Understanding of inventory principles.
  • Ability to track basic software systems.
