About the Program:

The Community Transport program supports members of our community to get to the shops, medical appointments, community centres and clubs. The Community Bus doubles as a social outing, creating friendships between passengers and a chat and/or a joke between passengers and volunteers.

Key Tasks:

• Chat with the passengers, making them feel welcome and included
• Provide support with walkers, shopping and general passenger safety
• Support the driver with navigation and communication

Skills/Knowledge/Personal Qualities:

• Team player
• Friendly and personable
• Empathy towards older people and people with a disability

Time Commitment:

At least one day a fortnight

Special Requirements:

Department of Human Services (DHS) Aged, Disability and Working with Children Check (These can be organised for you)
