Are you a natural leader with a passion for community and sustainability? Join our team as a volunteer organiser at Community Toolbox Canberra! We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to help coordinate and lead volunteer efforts for the day-to-day operations of Canberra’s first library of things. Our first year has been a great success and we're setting our course for the next 3 years.

Responsibilities shared by team members

  • Recruiting, training and managing volunteers

  • Assisting with maintenance of equipment

  • Organising our monthly repair café

  • Social media content

  • Welcoming new members

  • Workshop coordinator (new!)

  • Finance

  • Coordinating with key stakeholders

About you

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Experience in volunteer coordination and management (desirable)

  • Familiarity with MS Office (including Teams)

  • Interest in community building and sustainability

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a small team

Time commitment

  • A minimum of 4 hours a week
  • An ongoing commitment of at least 6 months
