If you’re interested in connecting with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for Volunteers who can support older people with their goals around staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.

We are needing a Volunteer Bus Driver who will transport our customers to and from our Ivanhoe AgeWell Centre. You will need to be confident driving a 12-seater bus, have great conversational skills and enjoy spending time with older people. A staff member will support you on the bus whilst you get to know the local area and route.

You will typically start the day by picking up our customers from their homes, transporting them to the centre, out for an activity or outing and then return them home. Aside from your love of driving, you will get to enjoy visiting local parks and gardens, going out for lunch or accompanying the group to a local museum. Between trips you might help out with the day’s activities, serving meals or tidying up around the Centre.

This role generally starts at 9am and finishes at 4pm, although we can be flexible to accommodate you.

We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring. We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities.
