STAR Community Services, a not-for-profit community organisation, has been providing transport services to communities for 26 years! STAR also provides a range of NDIS and Aged Care services across SE Queensland.

STAR's personalised transport services ensures our seniors and adults with a disability can get to and from medical and social appointments, allowing them to remain active in the community. STAR Transport is affordable, reliable and safe.

Due to the growing need for transport services STAR is expanding our community transport services into the Lockyer Valley and surrounds, Southern Darling Downs, Toowoomba and Stanthorpe regions.

Want to help? STAR offers flexible hours. Volunteer Owner Drivers can volunteer for a few hours a day/s a week. You can start early in the morning (from 6am) or later in the afternoon! We can offer hours that suit your lifestyle.

This is a Centrelink approved activity.

It is very important to STAR that the Volunteer drivers provide the highest level of safety and service to our clients. We will provide training to all drivers.

STAR offers the standard ATO rate of .85 cents per km for vehicle usage (this is non-taxable).

Volunteer Owner Drivers must have a vehicle that is easily accessible for people with mobility issues. The vehicle needs to be less than 10 years old and must be fully insured.

STAR's Volunteer Owner Drivers must:

• be a safe and confident driver
• have a warm and friendly personality
• comply with all relevant organisational policies & procedures & provisions of the Transport Operations Act 1995 of Qld
• have a 0.00 blood alcohol level whenever driving for STAR
• ensure their vehicle is serviced regularly.
