We support people to live a life they choose within a society that values individuals for who they are, respects their rights and encourages participation in everyday life. OC Connections has been providing services to people with an intellectual disability since 1950. We advocate for ‘my life, my choice’ and provide rewarding opportunities that support people to achieve this.

The Role

As a member of OC Connections, the Volunteer will support OCC Staff and participants with a variety of tasks to assist with the delivery of the OCC programs. You will be supporting participants reach their goals, preferences, and support requirements through daily activities such as cooking, arts and crafts, outings or sharing a hobby. Whilst assisting the OCC departments with activities onsite and offsite relevant to the teams’ requirements and fundraising events.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A positive attitude and an ability to respond creatively in providing the support necessary for the people we support to achieve their dreams and goals.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to volunteer and communicate effectively with people with a disability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both supervised and within a team and individually.
  • Well-developed communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and numerical skills.
  • Working with Children’s Card & NDIS Worker Screening Number
