The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Alamein Neighbourhood & Learning.

We are looking for some volunteers to meet and greet people as they come into Alamein to ensure that people feel welcome and comfortable in the centre.

TASKS/DUTIES INVOLVED:

• Greet visitors to Alamein with a hello and a smile.
• Direct visitors and Alamein participants to the correct room or staff member.
• Answer basic questions about Alamein or refer on to correct staff member.
• Promote activities that Alamein does.
• Encourage people entering Alamein to be Covid safe.
• Make coffees for visitors.
• Keep the common area / kitchen clean by stacking dishwasher, putting away clean dishes/ cups from the dishwasher, wiping down benches.
• Notify staff of any tea/ coffee etc. items that need to be re-ordered.
• Support with admin work (such as photocopying) if requested.
• Engage in / support with events held in the centre.
• Follow all Work, Health & Safety practices related to the role.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

• Clear speaking & understanding of English.
• Ability to understand all Work, Health & Safety practices related to the role.
• Comfortable to chat with people and have a friendly disposition.
• Ability to make coffees (will be trained in this if needed).
• Punctual
• Ability to work in a team.
• Have an excellent understanding of what Alamein does.
• Ability to learn about what resources are available in the local community.
• Understanding of spoken Mandarin (not essential, but helpful)
