If you’re interested in connecting people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for volunteers who can support a person living with a disability to meet their goals of staying independent and connected to their community.

Marc has worked in computer design and construction and is very interested in electronics and technology. He'd like to share his interest in these fields and in travel (with a particular interest in France and Poland). This volunteering role would involve connecting Marc into his local community through his interests and goals. Through the Community Connector volunteer program, you will be provided with the training and resources to assist with this connection.

As a Community Connector, you will: • Support a person living with a disability to build sustainable connections in their community; • Research and identify the social activities available; • Connect with the opportunities presented by Uniting’s “The Sharing Tree” program, a neighbourhood points scheme that rewards people for helping each other out.

As a Community Connector, you will benefit by: • Gaining a greater sense of community and belonging; • The satisfaction of being helpful to the community, sharing your skills, and making a positive difference to a person living with a disability; • Expanding your friendships and professional networks, and; • Receiving attractive benefits through our volunteer reward system “The Sharing Tree”.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
