The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Girl Guides Victoria.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating youth members to develop and implement the Australian Guides Program through an effective and well-balanced program that takes into consideration their needs and interests.
  • Supporting girls to develop further in Guides and providing opportunities to discover their potential as leaders of their world.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Guiding members, families, and the community.
  • Drawing on Guiding and community networks and working collaboratively with others to bring out the best in each member of the Unit.
  • Promoting and modelling the Guide Promise, Guide Law and Code of Conduct within Guiding and the wider community.
  • Monitoring the safety and wellbeing of Guides and Members of the community including the implementation of risk plans.
  • Monitoring social media of the Unit and participating in making sure that style and language are in keeping with Girl Guide Code of Conduct, policies, and branding.
  • Adhering to GGA and SGGO policies and procedures.
  • Handling and reporting complaints and incidents.
  • Building for the Future.

Guiding experience is not a requirement for the position.

Although we ask leaders to be familiar in a basic sense with all aspects of the role, in practice, leadership team members will usually take on the parts that interest or fit them the most. For example, one may do PR and social media, another new member onboarding and parent relations, another first and welfare, etc. Also, there is the option to be flexible based on other priorities from time to time.

Our program can include science, arts, cooking, life skills, outdoors, crafts, advocacy, service, camping, puzzles, games, learning, problem solving, teamwork, leadership and so on, so there is a chance to both share your passion with young girls and women and to learn something new and challenge yourself.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
