The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Girl Guides Victoria.

Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for elements of the Unit program and Unit meetings as directed by the Unit leadership team.
• Contribute to the planning of the Unit program along with youth members and adult members. Facilitate youth members to develop and implement an effective and well-balanced program relevant to their needs and interests.
• Support youth members to further their understanding and application of the Promise and Law.
• Encourage youth members to progress in the Australian Guide Program.
• Provide opportunities for youth members to develop and use leadership skills.

A Unit Helper is appointed by and reports to the Unit Leader(s).

The role is very flexible as to time and commitment required - Unit Helpers do everything from just turning up to meetings/activities a few times a term and helping in the moment, to organising key aspects of the program and assisting with planning and administration.

Our program can include science, arts, cooking, life skills, outdoors, crafts, advocacy, service, camping, puzzles, games, learning, problem solving, teamwork, leadership and so on, so there is a chance to both share your passion with young girls and women and to learn something new and challenge yourself.
