Uniting AgeWell Social Connections program keeps people connected to the community to support them to live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love.

We are looking for volunteers to support people over the age of 65 to attend an afternoon tea outing in the inner south area once a month. These outings are about connecting people over a delicious meal and some friendly conversation. The participants of the group have limited opportunities to get out and about and need your support to get to and from these outings. Not only will you be supporting a person with transport but you will also be getting to know new and interesting people.

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic volunteer to support a social afternoon tea outing that takes place on the 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Inner South area. The group provides participants a recreational and social outlet as well as the opportunity to meet others in their local community.

The role will require you to draw on your group facilitation skills while supporting people to build valuable connections and enjoy group activities as part of their social goals. The selected applicant will have effective communication skills and demonstrate confidence to facilitate and support group discussion and participation.

Be prepared to use your own vehicle to provide transport assistance to participants with reduced mobility, who may require the use of a four-wheel walker or stick. You must have respect for diversity and demonstrate the skills and confidence to work independently. You will need a current Australian driver’s licence and your own road worthy vehicle. Reimbursement offered for the cost of lunch.

As a valued member of the Social Support Team, you will have access to ongoing training and development, opportunities to meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator who will assist you throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. Interested? Please Apply!
