Volunteers Needed: Bunnings BBQ x Cure Cancer

Cure Cancer
Logo for Cure Cancer

Are you handy with a pair of tongs? Do you enjoy cooking in the outdoors and helping others? We need reliable BBQ helpers to serve at our Bunnings Thornleigh BarbeCURE on Sunday, 12th February 2023!

Cure Cancer funds early-career cancer researchers. We invest in the brightest innovators in cancer research, supporting researchers at the start of their careers, when few other funding bodies will take the chance.

The money raised will fund the innovative research on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) by Dr Heather Murray and kick-start other innovative projects like hers. Every year, about 1,100 people in Australia are diagnosed with AML. It is one of the most aggressive blood cancers, killing 3 in 4 patients within 5 years of their diagnosis.

  • Duties include greeting, cooking, serving, set up, pack-up and handling cash sales.

  • Morning shift 7:30am-12:30pm (includes set up)

  • Afternoon shift 12:30pm-5pm (includes pack up/clean up)

You are also welcome to stay all day!

Please specify what times you are available when applying in the interests, skills and qualifications section.

All volunteers will receive a free sausage sizzle and certificate.
