The Organisation: Cure Cancer funds early-career cancer researchers who are working across cancers and ALL areas of cancer research. We invest in the brightest innovators in cancer research, supporting researchers at the start of their careers, when few other funding bodies will take the chance. Over the past 56 years, Cure Cancer has raised $87m to support 540 lifesaving research grants across all cancer types. Our vision is to make this the last generation to die from cancer.

The Role: This part-time 2 day a week role in our Sydney office (between Mon-Wed) is ideal for for someone looking to make an everyday impact on the future of cancer research in Australia. The role would suit an individual completing volunteer hours or someone wishing to gain experience in the NFP sector.

The Community Fundraising and Events Intern's day to day tasks will focus on supporting fundraising activities for Community and Events including but not limited to fitness events, World's Best BYO and BarbeCURE.

Key Responsibilities

• Outbound welcome calls to our fundraisers
• Administration tasks for events and community fundraising
• Inventory and merchandise stock take
• Mass community and event campaign mail outs e.g. merchandise packs and fundraising kits
• Packing Comfort Packs ready for delivery to cancer patients across Australia
• Day of event support at World's Best BYO and Blackmores Sydney Running Festival
• Assisting in the organisation of monthly Bunnings BBQ's
• Ad hoc tasks as required

Skills and Experience

• Interest in fundraising, admin, event management or related field
• Warm personality with strong communication and written skills
• Confident phone manner
• Ability to work independently
• Good team player
