- Assisting with the day to day operation of the Visitor Centre
- Providing quality customer service
- Providing comprehensive information to satisfy visitor enquiries
- Providing positive and enthusiastic representation of Greater Shepparton City Council and Shepparton and Goulburn Valley as a tourist destination
- The sale of souvenir collateral and local products, including alcohol
- Maintenance of the Visitor Centre to ensure it remains clean and tidy
- Recording statistics of daily enquiries, undertaking surveys of visitors and collection of other tourism data as required
- Collation of collateral for conferences, events, new residents, backpackers and general information packs
- Staffing of off-site booths at Greater Shepparton events
- Other activities and tasks as identified by staff
Other Information:

Visitor Centre volunteers are required to participate in an induction program and ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Volunteers are required to follow all relevant Council policies and procedures including but not limited to; o Employees Code of Conduct o Prevention of Harassment, Discrimination, Bullying and Occupational Violence policy o Social Media for Staff and contractors o Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace
What we are looking for:
- Experience in and the passion for providing excellent customer service or experience in a community facing role
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work independently in a team environment
- The ability to work through more complex customer enquiries through research
- Knowledge or the ability and desire to gain knowledge of the Shepparton and Goulburn Valley region
- Administration skills not essential, but desirable
- RSA not essential, but desirable (training can be provided if desired)
- Computer skills including Internet searches and email
- Police check
- Availability for a regular weekend four hour shift (9am to 1pm or 1pm to 5pm)
