The Role Our Lifestyle & Wellbeing team based at Logan, offer a number of community services including group outings and activities for our clients. To maintain this essential service, we require the support of volunteers, and are currently looking for volunteer Activities Assistants to work with our paid staff, supporting clients with various activities and group programs.

Skills & Qualities • Assist staff on bus outings for small groups of clients • An interest in various activities and hobbies, which may include Arts & Crafts, sewing, bingo or other games • The motivation to make a difference in other people’s lives • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to relate to different ages and cultures • A patient, friendly and mature attitude and a respect for confidentiality and privacy • Maintain professional boundaries and work within the policies and procedures of Anglicare • Work with limited supervision and be able to take direction when required • Flexibility, commitment and ability to work both independently and within a team • Respect, care and courtesy towards others

Expectations Mandatory • Volunteer Mandatory Training – must complete prior to starting first volunteer shift (online and face to face training modules) • National Police Certificate – undergo a national police check and we will coordinate and pay for this to be processed • Current Covid-19 Vaccination evidence

Essential • Availability – at least one shift per week (4 hours) between 8.30am and 1.30pm on Thursday and Friday • Consistency and reliability – willing to commit to an ongoing basis • Confidentiality & Professional Boundaries– this is critical to us and you will need to sign a Statement of Agreement • Two (2) referees – who are not relatives and can verify your character and interaction in the community (ie. Work Colleague, Church Elder, Community Leader, Doctor or other Professional)
