About the role The administrative Facilities and Operations Support volunteer works alongside the Office Manager to assist with the everyday operation of the Footscray centre.

The Office Management team helps sustain the ASRC as a whole and improve the operational capacity of the centre. This program houses the primary functions of administration, reception, operations and facilities management which are all integral to the everyday running of the ASRC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing basic administrative support to the Office Manager
  • Assist the Office and Operations Manager with daily facilities management tasks as requested.
  • Being the contact for staff, volunteers and service providers for all practical operations issues that arise. This will include: Organising the servicing of office equipment (e.g. laminators) Coordinating maintenance and repairs Responding to Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) issues Ordering stock, such as printer cartridges, paper towels, stamps, stationery etc.
  • Acting as a point of contact for cleaners and ordering cleaning supplies - Developing systems and processes to streamline and effectively manage operations
  • Work collaboratively with the ASRC’s other core programs to ensure best outcomes for clients
  • Procurement of donated goods and services from suppliers
  • Booking in servicing of our fleet vehicles

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in facilities management, building maintenance or corporate services would be an advantage
  • Effective communication and customer-service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a challenging and time-pressured environment
  • A hands-on approach to dealing with issues and excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use own initiative and ‘common sense’
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as effectively as part of a team ∙
  • A keen attention to detail and a passion for finding solutions to challenging problems.
  • Computer literacy is essential for the desk-based component
  • Fill Victorian drivers license is desirable

Shifts This role is looking for a minimum commitment of 1 shift per week, ideally for 12 months. Shifts available Wednesdays & Friday 10am - 4pm.
