Helpline Volunteer

Wellways Australia Limited

About the opportunity

Helpline was born out of a vision to provide a service that is easily accessible by people in the community who need a compassionate ear to hear their story. It was one of the first support services introduced along Wellways’ journey to establishing itself as a leading national provider of mental health and disability services.

Helpline is a 100% peer-led volunteer phone service, which means every person working on Helpline has a lived experience, whether it be someone with their own personal experience, or someone who cares for a family member or friend living with mental health challenges.

Helpline volunteers assist callers in understanding mental health related issues, navigating the mental health system and providing emotional support and information about the services available. Above all else, our Helpline volunteers provide an opportunity to talk to someone who can empathise with callers and their experiences.

Helpline operates from 9am – 9pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) so you will have the flexibility to join us in a capacity that suits your availability and work / life commitments.
