Share April's love of animals, reading and long walks- Berwick
Uniting AgeWell**If you’re interested in connecting with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for volunteers who are creative thinkers and committed to supporting people to live their best lives. Help older people with their goals around staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.
You may be interested in a connection with April. April is an animal lover and enjoys reading and going on walks. April is seeking a volunteer with similar interests to provide regular contact and share walks and social outings. The selected volunteer will be willing to provide conversation, companionship and creatively reconnect April with her interests and community. Connecting with April* may involve visiting her at home, having a chat over the phone, meeting up for a coffee and/or sharing a skill. It might involve checking out what’s on offer at a local neighbourhood centre, library or an activity of interest.
We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently are a must. Having a driver’s licence/access to own vehicle is highly desired but not essential. We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities. If you are interested in more information about Volunteering in our Social Support Program, connecting to April or another person in your area, please phone 13 93 75 and quote AB-S-01.
