Admin Assistant – Rough Sleeper Patrol

Wesley Specialist Homeless Services (SHS) is looking for a compassionate and innovative admin all-rounder who is looking to gain experience in the community services sector. The Wesley SHS Team provide support to people who are experiencing, or who are at risk of homelessness, through early intervention, crisis and transitional support; and post crisis support services. Their primary objective is to ensure their clients are supported to achieve safe and stable housing in the community.
The ‘Admin Assistant – Rough Sleeper Patrol’ will support the team by attending monthly patrols (7am, Wednesdays) with the SHS Team Leader, participating in care coordination meetings and assist with follow up administration.

This role is ideal for a student completing Social Work, Community Welfare or Diploma in Community Services who would like to gain experience and progress their career within the sector.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Attend monthly rough sleeper patrols with SHS Team Leader

• Data entry – including data of rough sleeper flags from local councils

• Assist with monthly reports

• Assist with general phone enquiries and client follow up calls

• Assist with general office admin duties

Knowledge, skills and experience:

• Efficient and accurate data entry skills and excellent attention to detail

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, confident and personable with an ability to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders

• Good organisational skills, willing to take initiative and seek guidance when required

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Undergo a satisfactory National Criminal History Check and NSW Working with Children Check

• High level of discretion when dealing with sensitive information

• Respect and maintain confidentiality of Wesley Mission clients, staff and other stakeholders
