Pets Of The Homeless are looking for corporate volunteer groups to help us at our Pet Food Bank in Cheltenham. Our volunteer days run from 10am to 3pm on every Friday. Alternative days of the week are available upon request, should your team be unable to attend on a Friday.
A day volunteering at our Pet Food Bank/warehouse typically looks like this:
10:00am – Volunteers arrive at the warehouse for a quick tour and safety briefing.
10:30am – Volunteering begins!
12:00pm – 1.00pm – Take a break, sit down and enjoy lunch with your team.
3:00pm – Finish for the day
Some of the activities you may be involved in include:
- packing pet food
- sorting and cleaning pet items
- preparing material aid orders for social workers to pick up
Requirements Volunteering in our warehouse involves significant amounts of lifting and bending, twisting and turning, repetitive movements and standing and walking for long periods of time.
Due to the physical nature of the work, warehouse volunteering is not suitable for anyone with muscular, skeletal or back injuries or concerns. It is compulsory to wear hi-vis vests (will be provided) and closed toe shoes. All volunteers must be aged over 18.
Financial Contribution Like similar organisations, we ask for a contribution to complement your volunteers’ efforts. Your donation helps us to offset the costs of running the day including providing refreshments for your group, support on the day, and everything that goes into making sure your day with us runs smoothly! This contribution also enables us to provide support to thousands of people and pets each year.
For all corporate volunteers we ask for a contribution of
- $600 (plus GST) for groups of up to 10 people
- $800 (plus GST) for groups of 11-15 people
- $1000 (plus GST) for groups of 16-20 people
