This role is advertised on behalf of Mannacare by Manningham VRS. MannaCare assists older people in the Manningham community to sustain and reinforce their independence, social relationships, personal well-being and community interaction. MannaCare is colourful and fresh, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Volunteers provide a range of support for elderly people by enriching and extending their range of relationships, skills and experiences from their connections with the wider community. Volunteers can choose from a range of programs:

• Leisure and lifestyle activities: including social support, piano playing, book reading, hand massage and going for walks, especially in the fresh air and sunshine.
• Other activities may include gardening and Beauty Shop.

MannaCare will provide the necessary in-house training that volunteers must undertake to perform this role, including: •Manual handling •Fire procedure •Elder abuse •Infection control
