Local Coordinator
YFU Student Exchange (ACT)Be part of a global network of community-minded people who contribute to international understanding through student exchange programs! The role is open to well-rounded & responsible adults who understand young people, & families & have a commitment to child safety. Good communication & mediation skills are a must. You may have been an exchange student yourself or a host family, but that’s not essential. You must have a valid Working With Children Check, provide 3 referees & accept the YFU Code of Conduct. We provide training & ongoing support, plus you’ll have access to an online portal where useful resources and materials are available. The role is voluntary, but you are reimbursed for expenses. A Local Coordinator us the support person for a high school-aged exchange student living with a host family & attending school in your area. Where we place a student with a host family, we need a support person who lives within 2 hours drive of the family. You are required to check in with the student and family every month and complete a report for us plus, you are there if the student or host family needs additional support and may be required to liaise with the student's school. Your role as a Local Coordinator ensures that the student and family gain the most from their exchange program and that the student has a positive impact on the community.
