If you’re interested in connecting with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for Volunteers who can support older people with their goals around staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.

Jen is a bubbly ray of sunshine who is wanting to get back out into her love of socialising and lunching. Jen is looking to connect with someone at her house and then work towards heading out for a coffee or meal. She will keep you entertained with her loves puzzles, quizzes, movies and animals (has a cat and an elderly dog).

Connecting with *Jen may involve visiting her at home, having a chat over the phone, meeting up for a coffee and/or sharing a skill. It might involve checking out what’s on offer at a local neighbourhood centre, library or an activity of interest.

We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring. Good communications skills and the ability to work independently are a must. Having a driver’s licence/access to own vehicle is highly desired but not essential. We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities. If you are interested in more information about Volunteering in our Social Support Program, connecting to Jen* or another older person in your area, please phone 13 93 75 and quote (BK-W-12). Name changed for privacy.
